1     AN ACT concerning State government.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended
5 by adding Section 10-65 as follows:

6     (20 ILCS 1305/10-65 new)
7     Sec. 10-65. Diabetes prevention and treatment.
8     (a) The Secretary shall appoint an individual within the
9 Department to coordinate with other State agencies to ensure
10 that all programs that impact the prevention and treatment of
11 diabetes are coordinated, that duplication of efforts are
12 minimized, and that the impact of such programs are maximized
13 in an attempt to reduce the health consequences and
14 complications of diabetes in Illinois.
15     (b) The Department shall serve as the central repository
16 for the State of Illinois for data related to the prevention
17 and treatment of diabetes.
