SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 2205/2205-15 new

    Amends the Department of Healthcare and Family Services Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that any additional federal moneys received by the State under an economic stimulus plan for purposes of implementing the medical assistance program under the Illinois Public Aid Code, whether those moneys are received in the form of a direct cash grant or in the form of an enhanced federal match rate, shall be used to pay for obligations already incurred by the State under the medical assistance program, except to the extent that such use may be prohibited by the terms of the additional federal funding. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Department of Healthcare and Family Services
5 Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by
6 adding Section 2205-15 as follows:
 
7     (20 ILCS 2205/2205-15 new)
8     Sec. 2205-15. Additional federal moneys received under
9 economic stimulus plan. Any additional federal moneys received
10 by the State under an economic stimulus plan for purposes of
11 implementing the medical assistance program under the Illinois
12 Public Aid Code, whether those moneys are received in the form
13 of a direct cash grant or in the form of an enhanced federal
14 match rate, shall be used to pay for obligations already
15 incurred by the State under the medical assistance program,
16 except to the extent that such use may be prohibited by the
17 terms of the additional federal funding.
 
18     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19 becoming law.
