HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kevin M. "Kal" Lester on the occasion of his retirement from the Operating Engineers Local #150; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Lester was put on permit in 1973; he was employed as a well driller at Lane Western until he earned his journeyman's card on June 18, 1977; and

WHEREAS, After earning his journeyman's card, Kevin Lester worked for various companies, including R.W. Dunteman Corp. and Adcock; he then returned to Lane Western, where he worked until he was asked by Bill Dugan to become a business agent for District 2 of the Operating Engineers Local #150 on September 13, 1986; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Lester is a beloved lobbyist at the Illinois State Capitol and in the Illinois labor union community; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Lester served as President of the Fox Valley Building Trades Council; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Lester is a hunter, trapper, and mountain man at heart; he is an accomplished hunter that has traveled to South Africa twice and plans to return to hunt Cape Buffalo; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Lester has served as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kevin M. "Kal" Lester on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kevin Lester as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
