HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Dylan Conn, an esteemed resident of Lake Villa and an exceptional student at Grayslake North High School, has achieved national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by receiving a 2010 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and

WHEREAS, This prestigious award, presented by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and

WHEREAS, Dylan Conn earned this award by giving generously of his time and energy by creating a Facebook group dedicated to saving premature babies, which has more than 380,000 members and has raised more than $17,000 for the March of Dimes; he also chairs the national Social Media Volunteer Leadership Committee for the March of Dimes; and

WHEREAS, The success of the State of Illinois, the strength of this State's communities, and the overall vitality of our society depend, in great measure, upon the dedication of young people like Dylan Conn, who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dylan Conn on the occasion of receiving a 2010 Prudential Spirit of Community Award, recognize his outstanding volunteer work, and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dylan Conn as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
