HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Carrollton Junior High Lady Hawks basketball team on the occasion of winning the 7th Grade Class 1A State Tournament; and

WHEREAS, The Carrollton Junior High Lady Hawks defeated Sigel St. Michaels 24-21 to win the 7th Grade Class 1A State Tournament in Normal on December 10, 2009; the team finished its season with an incredible 20-1 record; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Carrollton Junior High Lady Hawks are Madelyn Cummins, Kara Evans, Alexa Hillis, Jessica Lake, Jordyn Lurton, Samantha McPherson, Madison Mountain, Christina Newton, Frankie Packer, Macy Pohlman, McKenzie Ruyle, Kayla Schmidt, Madison Struble, Katie Taylor, Olivia Waters, Michaela Weber, and Rachel Williams; the team's head coach is Geoff Driskill and the assistant coaches are Gail Mountain and Stacy Duba; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Carrollton Junior High Lady Hawks serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Carrollton Junior High Lady Hawks basketball team on the occasion of their victory and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carrollton Lady Hawks head coach Geoff Driskill as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
