HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Hinsdale Central Red Devils Girls Tennis Team on winning the 2009 Illinois State High School Association (IHSA) State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The matches were moved indoors after weather forced the change; the location change only allowed the Hinsdale team the chance to capture their fourth straight State Championship and the IHSA-record 12th team title overall; and

WHEREAS, Central won the tournament with 32 total points, beating Deerfield; their season record was 25-0, including the West Suburban Conference, IHSA Sectionals, and IHSA team titles; and

WHEREAS, Singles players on the State championship team were seniors Nida Hamilton and Hanna Mar (tied for 7th place), doubles players were Kristy Hamilton and Marika Cusick, who placed 4th in the State, and the doubles team of Anne Lombardi and Julia Quintero, who tied for 9th place in the doubles competition; and

WHEREAS, The Head Coach is Jerilyn Scardina; the assistant coaches are Robin Kramer, Susan Lapinski, and Corky King; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Red Devils are Marika Cusick, Kristy Hamilton, Nida Hamilton, Anne Lombardi, Hanna Mar, and Julia Quintero; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Red Devils and wish them continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Hinsdale Central Red Devils Girls Tennis Team as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
