1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the citizens of the
4 City of Salem for hosting the Professional Kennel Club (PKC)
5 Fall Superstakes, Youth and World Coon Hunting Championship;
6 and

7     WHEREAS, The Professional Kennel Club will hold their
8 annual World Coon Hunting Championship in the City of Salem
9 from October 22 through 31, 2009; and

10     WHEREAS, The arrival of the PKC and its coonhound
11 championship event will provide a much-needed economic boost to
12 southern Illinois, thanks to the influx of thousands of eager
13 spectators; and

14     WHEREAS, The PKC and the championship's competitors,
15 visitors, and staff will all benefit greatly from the renowned
16 hospitality of the people of Marion County and the many
17 communities along the Interstate 57 corridor; therefore, be it

18     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
20 congratulate the citizens of the City of Salem for hosting the
21 Professional Kennel Club's Youth and World Coon Hunting

1 Championship and wish them continued good fortune in the
2 future; and be it further

3     RESOLVED, That we welcome the members of the PKC to the
4 State of Illinois and wish for their visit to be a wonderful
5 experience for everyone involved; and be it further

6     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
7 presented to Leonard Ferguson, Mayor of the City of Salem, and
8 Roger Dale Carnegie, owner/CEO of the Professional Kennel Club.
