HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Mike Dominguez on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He was born on January 29, 1938 in Coahuila, Mexico to Santos Dominguez and Conception Nelson Dominguez; the family moved to Chicago when he was 15 years old and it has been his home ever since; and

WHEREAS, He attended Crane High School in Chicago and excelled in mathematics, particularly calculus; he served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958; and

WHEREAS, He has worked in a variety of positions over the years, including machinist, fleet management, and with the Chicago Department of Transportation; he made the decision to retire on April 30, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Over the years he has worked actively for change in his community and has worked on many aldermanic campaigns; from 1999 to the present he has served as the Coordinator for State Representative Edward Acevedo; and

WHEREAS, Mike has been happily married to Antoinette Morales Dominguez for 56 years and they are the proud parents of Sandra, Joann, Cathy, Donna, Conception, Michelle, and Michael; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mike Dominguez on his retirement and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mike Dominguez as a symbol of our sincere respect.
