HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence on the occasion of the foundation's 15th anniversary in September of 2009; and

WHEREAS, The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence was issued a certificate of incorporation on September 22, 1994 and was filed for record on September 30, 1994 in the office of the Will County Recorder; and

WHEREAS, The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence was founded with the purpose of generating financial support with which to enrich and enhance the opportunities and educational experiences of Lincoln-Way High School District 210 students; and

WHEREAS, The first meeting of the initial Board of Directors of the Lincoln-Way High School Foundation for Educational Excellence was held at Lincoln-Way High School in New Lenox on October 4, 1994; and

WHEREAS, At the time of the Lincoln-Way High School Foundation for Educational Excellence's incorporation, the district served 3,711 students at Lincoln-Way High School, with campuses at East and Central; today, the district currently encompasses 4 schools that serve nearly 7,200 students; responding to this incredible growth, the Foundation has donated over $2 million dollars to the district in order to benefit the district's students; and

WHEREAS, From the time of its inception, the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence has been composed of volunteer board directors from throughout the district, whose dedication and commitment have helped shape the high school experience of thousands of Lincoln-Way students; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence on the occasion of the foundation's 15th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Linda M. Lopez, Executive Director of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation for Educational Excellence, as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
