HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Gary Roth on the occasion of his retirement as an Administrative Assistant to the Clerk of the Circuit Court in DuPage County; and

WHEREAS, Gary Roth was born on July 26, 1943; he graduated from Reavis High School in 1961; and

WHEREAS, Gary Roth served as the Republican Committeeman for the City of Chicago's 23rd Ward from 1966 to 1972; he has served as the Downers Grove Township Precinct Committeeman since 1976; and

WHEREAS, Gary Roth has had a long and distinguished career in government; he was an employee of the Illinois Department of Transportation for 14 years; in April of 1985, he was sworn in as a Downers Grove Township Trustee, a position he served in for 3 terms; in 1990, he accepted a position as an Administrative Assistant to the Clerk of the Circuit Court in DuPage County, a position he served in until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Gary Roth has been an active member in his community; he has been a supporter and volunteer for Special Camps since 1995; he has been a member of the Hinsdale South Booster Club Board for 4 years; he has served as an umpire for the Darien Youth Club; he has been a volunteer for various initiatives in Darien School District 61, Hinsdale School District 86, and Burr Ridge CCSD 180; he has also devoted great amounts of his time and effort to Relay for Life and the March of Dimes; and

WHEREAS, Gary Roth has been a member of Lawn Lodge No. 815 since 1977; he is also a member of the Our Lady of Peace Parish in Darien; and

WHEREAS, After his retirement, Gary Roth plans to spend more time with his family, which includes his wife, Mary Anne, his children, Ryan (Kerry) and Rene (Jason), and his loving dog, Abbey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Gary Roth on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Gary Roth as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
