HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Larry Allport on
4 the occasion of his retirement after many years of service to
5 Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 501 in Aurora; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Larry Allport was initiated on January 1, 1967; he
7 served his apprenticeship from January 1, 1967 to December 31,
8 1967 and from August 31, 1969 to September 13, 1973; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Larry Allport served his country with pride and
10 distinction as a member of the United States Army from January
11 1, 1968 until August 31, 1969; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Larry Allport has had a long and distinguished
13 career in organized labor; he has served as a Pension/Welfare
14 Trustee for 29 years; he served as Financial
15 Secretary-Treasurer for Local 514 from 1983 to 1990 and for
16 Local 501 from 2000 to 2009; he served as a Business Agent for
17 Local 514 from 1986 to 1990; he served as an Assistant Business
18 Manager at Local 501 from 1997 to 2000; he also served as a
19 Business Manager at Local 514 from 1990 to 1997 and at Local
20 501 from 2000 to 2009; and
 
21     WHEREAS, Larry Allport has served as a delegate to 5 United

1 Association National Conventions; he has served as a delegate
2 to the Illinois Pipe Trades Convention for 25 years and as a
3 delegate to the DuPage County Building Trades for 19 years; he
4 has also served on the Illinois State Plumbing Examining Board
5 for 15 years and the Illinois Prevailing Wage Council for 29
6 years; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Larry Allport is the father of Jennifer, Kelly,
8 and Lyndsay, and the grandfather of Mac, Faith, Dakota, and
9 Gabriel; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Larry Allport serves as a model of hard work,
11 integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
12 Illinois; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15 congratulate Larry Allport on the occasion of his retirement
16 and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it
17 further
 
18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to Larry Allport as a symbol of our esteem and
20 respect.
