HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Halie Hart on the occasion of becoming the Class AA pole vaulting State champion at the seventh-grade level on May 22, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Halie Hart is a student at Millburn Central School in Wadsworth; she showed her great dedication to pole vaulting through her practice regimen, which consisted of waking up three days a week at 6 A.M. for practice, skipping recess for a midday session, and joining the team after school for track practice in order to make the most out of limited pole vault pit availability at nearby Lakes High School; and

WHEREAS, Halie Hart cleared 8-feet, 11-inches during the tournament, beating the field by more than six inches to become the first at her school to win a gold medal at a State tournament; and

WHEREAS, Refusing to rest on her laurels, Halie Hart aspires to continue her intense training and compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics; and

WHEREAS, Halie Hart serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Halie Hart on the occasion of becoming the Class AA pole vaulting State champion and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Halie Hart as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
