HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Clemente High School varsity boys baseball team on the occasion of winning the Chicago Public League baseball championship; and

WHEREAS, The Clemente High School baseball team defeated two-time defending champion Whitney Young in a 9-7 victory at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago on May 26, 2009; the team ended their season with an 18-6 record; and

WHEREAS, The Clemente High School baseball team's victory marks the school's first city title since 2003; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Clemente High School varsity boys baseball team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Clemente High School varsity boys baseball team on the occasion of winning the Chicago Public League baseball championship and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chris Hall, head coach of the Clemente High School varsity boys baseball team, as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
