HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Greg Hallbleib on the occasion of his induction into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in April of 2009; and

WHEREAS, Greg Hallbleib began his distinguished career in radio 30 years ago at radio station WZOE in Princeton, where he became a fixture as a local sports and news broadcaster; in 2002, he moved to WJBC in Bloomington-Normal, where he serves as the station's sports director; he also serves as anchor of WJBC's weekly Friday Night High School Football Extravaganza, which features live reports from games throughout central Illinois, and co-hosts WJBC's daily afternoon talk show with R.C. McBride and Jim Fitzpatrick; and

WHEREAS, Greg Hallbleib has served as the television voice of the Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Championship for the past 14 seasons; he currently serves as the play-by-play voice of the Bloomington Prairie Thunder hockey team, the Bloomington Extreme Indoor Football Team, and the Illinois State University Volleyball team; and

WHEREAS, Greg Hallbleib has received numerous awards for his news reporting and sports play-by-play from the Illinois Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press; he was also named United Indoor Football's Broadcaster of the Year in 2006 and 2007; and

WHEREAS, Greg Hallbleib serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Greg Hallbleib on the occasion of his induction into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Greg Hallbleib as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
