HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Philip Sparks of Boy Scout Troop 66 on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Philip Sparks refurbished 20 donated computers and installed them in two parochial schools in his community; thanks to his efforts, the schools were able to provide a needed upgrade to their computer systems; in total, Mr. Sparks and his team of Scouts gave nearly 200 hours of dedicated volunteer service to their community during the project; and

WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon Philip Sparks by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor ceremony on May 25, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Philip Sparks serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Philip Sparks of Boy Scout Troop 66 on the occasion of attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Philip Sparks as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
