HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Graham Morris of Lawrenceville on the occasion of being named as a member of the IHSA All State Academic Team; and

WHEREAS, Graham Morris is a two-year National Honor Society honoree with a 3.9 GPA on a 4 point scale; he will graduate in the Top 5 of his senior class; and

WHEREAS, Graham Morris achieved All-State honors in cross country three times during his career, placing 18th in the State as a sophomore and 7th as a junior; he placed 5th in the State as a senior, despite an injury, a case of bronchitis, and his own lack of conditioning due to the maladies, once again showing his commitment to excellence; he is also a member of his school's Scholastic Bowl, Student Council, BETA, Engineering Club, Spanish Club, Environthon, and marching band; and

WHEREAS, Graham Morris is an Illinois State Scholar and a National Merit Scholar; he has won five first-place awards in Engineering & Design contests in the past two years; and

WHEREAS, Graham Morris serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for his fellow classmates and the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Graham Morris on the occasion of being named as a member of the IHSA All State Academic Team and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Graham Morris as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
