HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Coach Gene Pingatore of St. Joseph High School in Westchester on winning his 827th basketball game, surpassing the previous State record; and

WHEREAS, On January 16, 2009, he won his 827th game as his St. Joseph Chargers defeated the Carmel Corsairs 49-26 in Mundelein; and

WHEREAS, The St. Joseph victory gave Coach Pingatore his 827th career victory, passing Peoria Manual's Dick Van Scyoc to become the number one all-time winningest among Illinois high school boys basketball coaches; and

WHEREAS, Coach Pingatore has coached at St. Joseph High School for over 40 years; his team's have finished fourth, third, second, and in 1999 won the Class AA Boys Basketball Championship; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Coach Pingatore and wish him the best in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Gene Pingatore as a symbol of our respect.
