HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Mundelein High School students, performing as show choir groups known as The Mundelein Sound and The Mundelein Lights, have provided outstanding entertainment for many years to the Mundelein community and to many other communities nationwide through their participation in Show Choir choral group competitions; and

WHEREAS, Participation in Mundelein High School Show Choir choral groups has been enthusiastic and an excellent example of student growth through music and performance education; and

WHEREAS, Director John Neubauer and assistant directors Corey Thompson and Matt Farmer have provided great amounts of time and effort in an exemplary and tireless manner to train Mundelein High School Show Choir groups; and

WHEREAS, Parents, teachers, and other community members have been active supporters of the Mundelein High School Show Choir students, working beside them, traveling with them, and enthusiastically applauding their success; and

WHEREAS, Mundelein High School Show Choir groups have been recognized for their excellent performances in nationwide competition for many years; and

WHEREAS, The Mundelein Sound Show Choir performance was named the Grand Champion Mixed Show Choir at the 2009 Grand River National Show Choir Invitational on March 21, 2009; and

WHEREAS, The Mundelein Lights Show Choir performance was named the Grand Champion Women's Show Choir at the 2009 Grand River National Show Choir Invitational on March 21, 2009; and

WHEREAS, The success of the music programs at Mundelein High School have brought great honor to the State of Illinois and to Illinois schools; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the outstanding achievements of the Mundelein High School Show Choir choral groups and extend our best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mundelein High School Show Choir Director John Neubauer as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
