HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the
4 Peoria Richwoods High School Knights girls basketball team on
5 the occasion of winning the 2008-2009 IHSA Class 3A State
6 Championship; and
 
7     WHEREAS, The Peoria Richwoods High School Knights beat
8 Freeport 56-19 to become the IHSA Class 3A State Champions; the
9 team ended their season with an impressive 32-3 record and set
10 a record for the largest championship-game victory margin; and
 
11     WHEREAS, The members of the Peoria Richwoods High School
12 Knights girls basketball team are Shyla Nott, Amber Metzger,
13 Danielle DesJardins, Sarah Murray, Maggie Cunningham, Susan
14 Lynd, Cryshawn Johnson, Katie Behm, Kelli Dunne, Chelsea
15 Newton, Karissa London, Lily Voelker, Mariah Smith, Maddie
16 Nieukirk, and Katie Murphy; the team's head coach is John Gross
17 and the assistant coaches are Todd Hersey, Ralph Gallo, Kenneth
18 Baker, and Sarah Muzzarelli; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The members of the Peoria Richwoods High School
20 Knights girls basketball team serve as models of hard work,
21 integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
22 Illinois; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
3 congratulate the members of the Peoria Richwoods High School
4 Knights girls basketball team on the occasion of winning the
5 2008-2009 IHSA Class 3A State Championship and wish them
6 continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
7 further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to John Gross, head coach of the Peoria Richwoods
10 High School Knights girls basketball team, as a symbol of our
11 esteem and respect.
