HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Waukegan Park District Allstars Special Recreation Basketball Team for the team's second place finish at the Special Olympics of Illinois State Tournament; and

WHEREAS, The Allstars competed in Division 16 at the Special Olympics of Illinois State Tournament on March 15, 2009, finishing their season with an admirable second place finish; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Waukegan Park District Allstars Special Recreation Basketball Team are Thomas Blake, Angela Dobson, Joe Edwards, Sam Miller, Raphael Moss, Antonio Paniagua, Gary Richards, Pavel Sedov, Mark Talley, and Christian Torres; and

WHEREAS, Two members of the Waukegan Park District Allstars Special Recreation Basketball Team, Thomas Blake and Christian Torres, received the Ron Knisley Spirit of the Games Award, given by officials to an athlete from each team that has displayed good sportsmanship and leadership and has promoted the true "Spirit of the Special Olympics Games" through his or her actions; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Waukegan Park District Allstars Special Recreation Basketball Team for the team's second place finish at the Special Olympics of Illinois State Tournament and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Waukegan Park District Allstars Special Recreation Basketball Team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
