HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate State Representative Michael J. Carberry of Oak Lawn on his service to the people of the 36th Representative District; and

WHEREAS, The 36th District includes all or parts of Chicago Ridge, Evergreen Park, Hometown, Oak Lawn, Palos Hills, and Chicago's 18th and 19th Wards; and

WHEREAS, State Representative Carberry took office in March 2010, succeeding State Representative Jim Brosnahan; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his appointment, Michael Carberry helped found CECO Inc., a signature contractor for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 that also enjoys a close relationship with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 399; the company established itself as a leader for critical power data center needs within the Chicago region; he is also a member of the Chief Engineers Association; and

WHEREAS, A life-long resident of the area he now represents, State Representative Carberry attended St. Catherine of Alexandria grade school and Brother Rice High School; he received his B.A. in journalism from Western Kentucky University and pursued additional schooling at Northeast Louisiana University, now known as the University of Louisiana-Monroe; and

WHEREAS, State Representative Carberry and his wife, Michelle, have active roles in the education system; State Representative Carberry has coached 7th and 8th grade football at St. Catherine's grammar school for 13 years and Michelle is a Chicago Public Schools teacher; and

WHEREAS, State Representative Carberry and his wife are the proud parents of three children, Mary Kate, Claire, and Sean; the Carberry family are active members of St. Catherine of Alexandria parish; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we wish State Representative Michael J. Carberry all the best in his future endeavors and congratulate him on his service to the people of the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to State Representative Michael Carberry as an expression of our esteem and respect.
