HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate State Representative John
4M. O'Sullivan of Oak Lawn on his service to the people of the
535th Representative District; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The 35th District includes Chicago's 19th Ward and
7the suburban municipalities of Alsip, Chicago Ridge, Oak Lawn,
8Orland Park, Palos Heights, Palos Hills, Palos Park,
9Willowbrook, Willow Springs, and Worth; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Representative O'Sullivan took office in August
112010, succeeding State Representative Kevin Joyce; and
 
12    WHEREAS, At a time of great fiscal challenge for the State,
13Representative O'Sullivan chose not to accept a salary for his
14service as State Representative; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Representative O'Sullivan is a member of Chicago
16Local 2 of the Laborers' International Union of North America
17and has worked for more than 24 years at Cook County's John H.
18Stroger, Jr. Hospital; he also serves as the Worth Township
19Democratic Committeeman; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Representative O'Sullivan is a lifelong resident

1of the Southwest Side; he is a 1982 graduate of St. Cajetan
2Elementary School and a 1986 graduate of Mt. Carmel High
3School, where he was a champion wrestler; and
 
4    WHEREAS, While public service is important to
5Representative O'Sullivan, his family is always his foremost
6priority; he and his wife, Tricia, a first-grade teacher, are
7the proud parents of sons Johnny, Joey, and Tommy; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11wish Representative John M. O'Sullivan all the best in his
12future endeavors and congratulate him on his service to the
13people of the State of Illinois; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Representative O'Sullivan as an expression of our
16esteem and respect.
