HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor United States Army Captain Angela M. Bulanda for her service to our country; and

WHEREAS, Captain Angela Bulanda currently serves with the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps' 583rd Forward Support Company at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; while at training at Fort Lee, Virginia in the Quartermaster School, she was the recipient of the Top Distinguished Graduate Award and the Iron Woman Award for earning the top Physical Fitness Test scores; she plans to attend captain's school at Fort Lee, Virginia in March of 2011; and

WHEREAS, While serving in Afghanistan, Captain Angela Bulanda was a recipient of the Bronze Star for her meritorious service; and

WHEREAS, Captain Angela Bulanda graduated from Seton Academy in 2003 as valedictorian; she was an Illinois State Scholar and recipient of the General Assembly Community Service Scholarship through the office of 30th District Representative William Q. Davis; she was also awarded the "All Conference" Award in basketball, volleyball, and softball; and

WHEREAS, In 2007, Captain Angela Bulanda earned her bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University, where she graduated magna cum laude; while there, she was awarded the Dean's Award from the College of Visual and Performing Arts; and

WHEREAS, While attending NIU, Captain Angela Bulanda attended ROTC for four years; she graduated with the Distinguished Military Cadet Award, the Superior Cadet Award, the American Legion Scholastic Military Excellence Award, and the Pallas Athene Award; and

WHEREAS, Captain Angela Bulanda serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Captain Angela M. Bulanda for her service to our country, welcome her back to the State of Illinois, and wish her continued success and happiness in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Captain Angela Bulanda as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
