HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Randall "Randy" Sherman, who recently passed away; and

WHEREAS, He was the beloved son of Charlene, (nee, Weller) and Leonard Skora, and the late Irving Sherman; the dear brother of Craig Sherman and Lori Sherman (Timothy) Fentem; the step-brother of David (Lorrie Woos) Skora and Thomas (Margie) Skora; and the fond uncle of Lee Sherman, Zachary Fentem, Ashlyn Fentem, Samuel Skora, Sydney Skora, and Steve Skora; and

WHEREAS, He had earned an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the Northwestern Medill School of Journalism and a Master's degree from the University of Missouri; and

WHEREAS, He was active in cable television and he was a volunteer for, and the newsletter editor of, the Vietnam Veterans Post in DesPlaines; and

WHEREAS, He was a long-time philatelist and had a passion for collecting stamps from throughout the world, and throughout history; he was the Secretary and Treasurer of Compex 2000, the largest stamp show in the world; and was the Secretary and an active member of the Chicago Philatelic Society; and

WHEREAS, He believed in the role of government and public officials and the positive effect that they should have on individuals' lives, and as such, he was the co-founder and Secretary-Treasurer of the Illinois Coalition for Honest Government; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Randall Sherman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Randall Sherman as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
