HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the employees of Midwest Generation's Will County Station in Romeoville on the occasion of achieving a major safety milestone of one million hours worked without any injuries; and

WHEREAS, Midwest Generation's Will County Station can generate enough electricity to meet the needs of about 1.3 million households and is one of 6 Midwest Generation power generating facilities in the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, The Will County Station has gone without an accident for one million working hours, totaling nearly two and one-half years of consistent safety; this is an exceptional achievement for a large coal-fired generating station with 175 employees and a production capacity of over 1,000 megawatts; and

WHEREAS, To ensure that the Will County Station maintains its excellent level of safety, the station follows rigorous safety practices that include continuous assessments, training, communication, sharing best practices, employee recognition, and never compromising employee safety for production; and

WHEREAS, The employees of Midwest Generation's Will County Station and the members of IBEW Local 15 serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the employees of Midwest Generation's Will County Station for their major achievement in workplace safety and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the employees of the Will County Station as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
