HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor the owner and employees of MacArthur's Restaurant in Chicago for the organization's dedicated service to the citizens of the Austin community and the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Seeing a lack of healthy food choices for members of the Austin community, Mr. MacArthur Alexander founded MacArthur's Restaurant in February of 1997 to provide affordable and nutritious meals to accommodate members of the his community; and

WHEREAS, MacArthur's Restaurant currently serves over 20,000 people every month; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander also places a special emphasis on hiring ex-felons at MacArthur's Restaurant in order to help them rebuild their lives following their incarceration; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alexander and his restaurant serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Mr. MacArthur Alexander and the employees of MacArthur's Restaurant for its dedicated service to the citizens of the Austin community and the State of Illinois and its great dedication to the cause of advancing opportunities for ex-offenders; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. MacArthur Alexander as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
