HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Illinois State Police Captain Stuart R. Shaver on his retirement, September 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He began his career with the Illinois State Police in February of 1985, serving in District 6 in Pontiac; over the years he served in various roles with the Division of Operations, Division of Administration, and the Director's Office, to the assignment of District 10 Commander; and

WHEREAS, In addition he served as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) Field Coordinator and Training Team Facilitator, made valuable contributions to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, and was a leader at the Illinois State Police Academy, Office of Labor Relations, Heartland Resource Support Center, and in Districts 6, 8, and 10 during his years of service; and

WHEREAS, Captain Shaver holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Illinois State University; and

WHEREAS, Captain Shaver will be enjoying his retirement along with his wife, Teresa, and his children, Jacob, Nicholas, Brandon, and Lyndsay; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Illinois State Police Captain Stuart Shaver on his retirement, thank him for his years of service to the people of the State of Illinois, and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Captain Stuart Shaver as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
