HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Janie Wells on the
4occasion of her 90th birthday on October 12, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janie Wells was born on October 12, 1920, in
6Summerlin, Mississippi; her parents are Anderson and Janie
7Dixson; she was the second of 3 children, Mattie D. being the
8oldest child and Anderson Dixson (Jack the Bear) being the
9youngest child; she married Tomie Wells on May 1, 1937; the
10couple was married for 65 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, In 1939, Janie Wells and her husband moved to
12Illinois and settled in the west side of Chicago; during this
13time, two children were born to the couple, Thomas and Judy;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Janie Wells lived in Argo from 1941 to 1973 and
16was employed for many years at Ford Motors and Reynolds
17Aluminum; she also worked for many years as a domestic engineer
18in Chicago's western suburbs; after her retirement in 1986, she
19purchased a home in Bellwood; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Janie Wells is the proud mother of Thomas (Anna);
21she also has 9 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 6

1great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
4congratulate Janie Wells on the occasion of her 90th birthday
5and wish her many happy and healthy years to come; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to Janie Wells as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
