HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ian Seivwright on the occasion of his retirement as Deputy Chief of the Western Springs Fire Department after 50 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Ian Seivwright has been a life-long resident of Western Springs; and

WHEREAS, Ian Seivwright's service to the Western Springs Fire Department began as a student at McClure Junior High School; after hearing the alarm bells go off at the firehouse, he would often jump out the window of the school and scurry to the firehouse to either watch or tag along; he later joined the department as a full-time member and ascended the ranks to become Deputy Chief, where he served until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Ian Seivwright has served his country as an officer in the United States Navy in the late 1960s and early 1970s, where he distinguished himself in his service with the Pacific fleet; he subsequently began and completed a long and successful career with the People's Gas Company, retiring as the director of the company's security operations; and

WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Ian Seivwright plans to move to Phoenix, Arizona, where he can bask in the sun and reflect upon the many accomplishments in his life; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ian Seivwright on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ian Seivwright as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
