HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor the late Steve Souligne for his years of service to the communities of Bradley, Bourbonnais, and Kankakee; and

WHEREAS, Steve Souligne served the communities of Bradley, Bourbonnais, and Kankakee for forty years; and

WHEREAS, Steve was born in 1953 and started coaching in 1968; and

WHEREAS, Steve coached for Kankakee Lions Little League, Elks Pony League, Bradley Bourbonnais Little League, and Bradley Bourbonnais Pony League; and

WHEREAS, In addition, he coached basketball at Kankakee High School; and

WHEREAS, For over forty years, Steve mentored and touched many lives in his effort to give back to his community and his passion for youth sports; his legacy will live on through the kids that he coached and through the leagues that he volunteered with over the years; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank the family of Steve Souligne for allowing us the chance to honor him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That his legacy will live on through the many children he coached and those affected by his dedication to the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steve Souligne as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
