HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Don and Cathy Sanders on their retirement from the Vienna Times and the Goreville Gazette; and

WHEREAS, They served as Publisher of the Vienna Times from 1969 to June 30, 2008 and the Goreville Gazette from October 1979 to June 30, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Don currently serves as Editor Emeritus of both the newspapers, but will retire on June 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Cathy fully retired as office manager on June 30, 2008; and

WHEREAS, A retirement reception will be held on June 10, 2010 for the couple; and

WHEREAS, The City of Vienna as well as Johnson County will declare June 30, 2010 as Don and Cathy Sanders Day; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Don and Cathy Sanders on their retirement and wish them the best in all their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Don and Cathy Sanders as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
