HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Pat Jones on the occasion of her retirement as the Palos Park Village Administrator after more than 30 years of dedicated service with the Village; and

WHEREAS, Pat Jones is a 38-year resident of the Village of Palos Park; she began her career with the Village in 1977 as the Village Clerk after volunteering in the Village and running a blood drive for Palos Community Hospital; she remained in that capacity until 1992, when she was elevated to the post of Village Administrator; and

WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Village of Palos Park, Pat Jones has worked on 42 utility projects and performed all the responsibilities of a public works director until that position was created in 1996; she played an integral part in developing the Village's departments, making them competitive with other municipalities; she was involved in the annexation of land west of La Grange Road to expand the Village's population; she was also involved in creating the Village's first flood plain ordinance, expanding office space, creating a full-time recreation department, constructing an underground reservoir, and developing the Cal-Sag bike trail; and

WHEREAS, Pat Jones and her loving husband, Ralph, have 4 children and 8 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Pat Jones has served as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Pat Jones on the occasion of her retirement and wish her many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Pat Jones as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
