HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Suzanne McDowell on the occasion of her retirement after 37 years as a teacher; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne McDowell began her teaching career in Virginia; in 1993, she continued teaching marketing, business, and cooperative education courses in Illinois; she has taught at the Bloomington Area Career Center and Bloomington High School for the last 17 years; and

WHEREAS, During her extensive career, Suzanne McDowell has written grants, advocated for students, and traveled many extra miles for her students; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne McDowell was the recipient of the Central Illinois Golden Apple Award in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne McDowell will be remembered fondly by her many students for the profound influence she has had on their lives; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Suzanne McDowell on the occasion of her retirement and wish her many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Suzanne McDowell as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
