HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Officer
4 Alejandro Valadez, who passed away June 1, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Officer Alejandro Valadez was born on February 1,
6 1982; he attended Brother Rice High School and graduated from
7 Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
8 Criminal Justice; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Officer Alejandro Valadez was appointed to the
10 Chicago Police Department on December 5, 2005 and worked in the
11 022nd and 007th Districts; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Officer Alejandro Valadez served the Chicago
13 Police Department with honor and distinction, earning a
14 Department of Commendation Award and 22 Honorable Mentions
15 awards during his three year career; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Officer Valadez was a proud member of the Chicago
17 Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7; and
 
18     WHEREAS, The Chicago Police Department has retired Officer
19 Valadez's star, which is numbered 9534; and

1     WHEREAS, Officer Valadez leaves behind a fiance, a brother
2 and sister, all of whom are current members of the Chicago
3 Police Department, as well as a newborn son whom he was not
4 able to meet; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Officer Alejandro Valadez dedicated and gave his
6 life to protecting and serving the people of Illinois;
7 therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 mourn, along with his family, friends, and brothers and sisters
11 of the Fraternal Order of Police, the passing of Officer
12 Alejandro Valadez; and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Officer Alejandro Valadez as an
15 expression of our sympathy.
