HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Sesser-Valier High School Boys Basketball team, the Red Devils, on its second place finish in the Class 1A State Championship Tournament on March 13, 2010; and

WHEREAS, The Red Devils defeated Madison 58-40 to secure their berth in the championship game on March 13, 2010; the Red Devils were led by high scorer Justin Matyi in that game and by Kendall Gibson in the Championship game against Salt Fork, which Salt Fork won 54-42; and

WHEREAS, The Coach of the Red Devils is Chip Basso; the Assistant Coaches are Shane Garner, Nick Laur, and Brian Laur; and

WHEREAS, The Red Devils are: Dane Eubanks, Tim Witcher, Dustin Hicks, Myles Tinsley, Alan DelBene, Cody Pitchford, Kendall Gibson, Greg Jenkins, Shad Donovan, T.J. Eubanks, Justin Matyi, John Vercelline, Kyle Stanley, Curtis Edwards, Dylan Rock, and Drew Dorris; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Red Devils on their outstanding season and wish them continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Sesser-Valier Red Devils as a symbol of our pride and esteem.
