HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jason Leman of Boy Scout Troop 96 in Grayslake on the occasion of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Jason Leman renovated an attic at Westlake Christian Academy and turned the attic into a storage space; over the course of several months, Jason and over 20 Scouts replaced the wiring, painted the walls, carpeted the floors, and built shelves and a platform for the room; and

WHEREAS, Jason Leman is currently a junior at Westlake Christian Academy; he is on the High Honor Roll and serves as secretary of the Student Council; he also plays flute in the school band and was a bugler for his troop; and

WHEREAS, Jason Leman has been in the Boy Scouts for 7 years; he was a Webelo for 2 years and was a recipient of the Arrow of Light Award; he is also a member of the Order of the Arrow; and

WHEREAS, Jason Leman has earned over 30 Merit Badges for his work in the Boy Scouts; his patrol has also received the National Honor Patrol Award; and

WHEREAS, Jason Leman will be honored for his work at an Eagle Scout ceremony on April 11, 2010 at Westlake Christian Academy; and

WHEREAS, Jason Leman's family is undoubtedly proud of his achievements and his willingness to serve his community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that congratulate Jason Leman on the occasion of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jason Leman as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
