HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Orval Trimble of Newman, who passed away on October 13, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Orval Trimble was born on September 21, 1904, in Jewett, a son of Edward and Belle Ward Trimble; he married Belle Bischop on November 24, 1924 in Montrose and she preceded him in death on May 31, 1971; he later married Mae West in 1971; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Trimble was a fifty-year member of the Newman Masonic Lodge, a member of the Douglas County Farm Bureau, and a Member of the American Angus Association; and

WHEREAS, In 1941 he hosted the WLS Farm Show on his farm in Newport, Indiana; Orval placed fourth in the National Husking Contest that was held as part of the farm show; his hobbies included playing the organ and dancing; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Trimble was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, two brothers, and a sister; and

WHEREAS, Orval Trimble is survived by his wife, Mae; his son, Gene Trimble; his daughter, Madge (Dean) Warters; his six grandchildren; his fourteen great-grandchildren; and his seven great-great grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Orval Trimble; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Orval Trimble as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
