1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Brian Hansen,
4 speedskater from Glenview, on winning a silver medal at the
5 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver; and

6     WHEREAS, Brian Hansen is a 2009 graduate of Glenbrook South
7 High School; and

8     WHEREAS, He won his medal in the team pursuit; Team USA
9 beat the Dutch team in a semifinal victory; and

10     WHEREAS, Brian's next competition was in Moscow, where he
11 competed in the World Junior Speedskating Championships,
12 winning medals in multiple events; and

13     WHEREAS, Brian previously competed for the Northbrook
14 Speedskating Club and was a friendly rival of fellow Olympian
15 and fellow Glenbrook Class of 2009 alum Lana Gehring;
16 therefore, be it

17     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 congratulate Brian Hansen and wish him the best in his future
20 endeavors; and be it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Brian Hansen as a symbol of our respect and
3 esteem.
