SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
35 ILCS 200/21-165

    Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that payment for delinquent taxes may be made at any time before the day of the sale (now, any time before the sale). Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning revenue.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing
5 Section 21-165 as follows:
 
6     (35 ILCS 200/21-165)
7     Sec. 21-165. Payment of delinquent tax before sale. Any
8 person owning or claiming properties upon which application for
9 judgment is applied for and any lienholder of record may, in
10 person or by agent, pay the taxes, and costs due, or in
11 counties with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants, the taxes, special
12 assessments, interest and costs due, to the county collector at
13 any time before the day of the sale.

15     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16 becoming law.
