SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
New Act

    Creates the Employment Application Act. Prohibits an employer from requiring that applications for employment be submitted only online or in another electronic format. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning employment.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Employment Application Act.
 
6     Section 5. Definition. In this Act, "employer" means an
7 individual, corporation, partnership, labor organization,
8 unincorporated association, the State, an agency or a political
9 subdivision of the State, or any other legal, business, or
10 commercial entity that employs one or more persons.
 
11     Section 10. Form of application for employment. An employer
12 may not require that applications for employment be submitted
13 only online or in another electronic format.
 
14     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15 becoming law.
