SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

Creates the Employment Application Act. Prohibits an employer from requiring that applications for employment be submitted only online or in another electronic format. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning employment.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Employment Application Act.

Section 5. Definition. In this Act, "employer" means an individual, corporation, partnership, labor organization, unincorporated association, the State, an agency or a political subdivision of the State, or any other legal, business, or commercial entity that employs one or more persons.

Section 10. Form of application for employment. An employer may not require that applications for employment be submitted only online or in another electronic format.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
