SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
220 ILCS 5/8-304.5 new

    Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that the Illinois Commerce Commission shall require that an electric utility with less than 2 million customers set the due date on the bills of non-residential customers to no less than 20 days after the date of the postmark on the bill.

1     AN ACT concerning utilities.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
5 Section 8-304.5 as follows:
 
6     (220 ILCS 5/8-304.5 new)
7     Sec. 8-304.5. Due date for bills of non-residential
8 customers; utilities with less than 2 million customers. The
9 Commission shall require that an electric utility with less
10 than 2 million customers set the due date on the bills of
11 non-residential customers to no less than 20 days after the
12 date of the postmark on the bill.
