    Amends the Clinical Social Work and Social Work Practice Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the powers and duties of the Department.

1     AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Clinical Social Work and Social Work
5 Practice Act is amended by changing Section 5 as follows:
 
6     (225 ILCS 20/5)  (from Ch. 111, par. 6355)
7     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2018)
8     Sec. 5. Powers and duties of the Department.
9     1. The The Department shall exercise the powers and duties
10 as set forth in this Act.
11     2. The Secretary shall promulgate rules consistent with the
12 provisions of this Act for the administration and enforcement
13 thereof, and shall prescribe forms which shall be issued in
14 connection therewith.
15     3. In addition, the Department shall:
16         (a) Establish rules for determining approved
17     undergraduate and graduate social work degree programs and
18     prepare and maintain a list of colleges and universities
19     offering such approved programs whose graduates, if they
20     otherwise meet the requirements of this Act, are eligible
21     to apply for a license.
22         (b) Promulgate rules, as may be necessary, for the
23     administration of this Act and to carry out the purposes

1     thereof and to adopt the methods of examination of
2     candidates and to provide for the issuance of licenses
3     authorizing the independent practice of clinical social
4     work or the practice of social work.
5         (c) Authorize examinations to ascertain the
6     qualifications and fitness of candidates for a license to
7     engage in the independent practice of clinical social work
8     and in the practice of social work, and to determine the
9     qualifications of applicants from other jurisdictions to
10     practice in Illinois.
11         (d) Maintain rosters of the names and addresses of all
12     licensees, and all persons whose licenses have been
13     suspended, revoked or denied renewal for cause within the
14     previous calendar year. These rosters shall be available
15     upon written request and payment of the required fee.
