SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

225 ILCS 10/4.6 new

Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that no childcare facility licensed under the Act may refuse to accept a child who is at least 3 weeks old solely on the basis of the child's age.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning child care.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by adding Section 4.6 as follows:

(225 ILCS 10/4.6 new)

Sec. 4.6. Childcare facilities; 3-week old children.

(a) No childcare facility licensed under this Act may refuse to accept a child who is at least 3 weeks old solely on the basis of the child's age.

(b) The Department of Children and Family Services shall promulgate rules to ensure compliance with this Section.
