305 ILCS 5/9A-10   from Ch. 23, par. 9A-10

    Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Makes a technical change in a Section regarding support services provided to Temporary Assistance for Needy Families recipients.

1     AN ACT concerning public aid.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5 changing Section 9A-10 as follows:
 
6     (305 ILCS 5/9A-10)  (from Ch. 23, par. 9A-10)
7     Sec. 9A-10. Support Services.
8     (a) The The Illinois Department shall provide or pay for
9 child care and other support services, if otherwise
10 unavailable, to enable recipients to participate in or prepare
11 for education, training and employment programs authorized
12 under this Article. The Illinois Department shall provide and
13 pay for such support services in accordance with procedures,
14 standards and rates established by rule.
15     (b) Support services may include:
16         (1) transportation;
17         (2) child care;
18         (3) job search allowance;
19         (4) initial employment expenses;
20         (5) required books, fees, supplies; and
21         (6) required physical examinations and medical
22     services.
23     (c) Participation shall not be required if support services

1 are needed for effective participation but unavailable from the
2 Department or some other reasonably available source. Support
3 services shall be made available to the participant at no cost.
