SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ralph Donald Murphy of Pekin, who passed away on December 27, 2008; and

WHEREAS, He was born April 6, 1951, in Peoria to Donald and Anita (Winton) Murphy; he married Cheryl Anne Brown on Oct. 7, 2006, in East Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Ralph worked for Caterpillar Inc., last working as a machine operator in the gearing area in East Peoria; he worked many years previously in a print shop in Pekin; and

WHEREAS, He was for many years a member of The Redeemers Special Church in Peoria, where he especially liked to drive church buses, loved the people he picked up, and enjoyed playing guitar in church services; he was a blues guitarist in past years; and he was very passionate about music and studying the Bible; and

WHEREAS, His grandparents preceded him in death; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Murphy is survived by his wife, Cheryl Anne; his parents; his son, Brandon Park; and his sister, Donita Murphy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ralph Murphy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ralph Murphy as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
