SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Berniece H. Lipe of Chester, who passed
4 away on February 15, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Berniece Lipe was born to George Arthur and Hettie
6 (Biggs) Fore on May 3, 1914, in Carbondale; she married
7 Lawrence V. Lipe on April 4, 1936, in Cairo; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Bernice was a homemaker and a member of the First
9 United Methodist Church in Chester and the United Methodist
10 Women Club; and
 
11     WHEREAS, She was a librarian at the church and a Sunday
12 school teacher; she volunteered at the Chester Library and was
13 a member of Friends of the Library; she was also a member of
14 the Chester Women's Club and RSVP; and
 
15     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her
16 husband, Lawrence; her sister; and her two brothers; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Berniece H. Lipe is survived by her two sons and
18 daughters-in-law, Verdon and Jeannie Lipe, and Larry and Diana
19 Lipe; her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jerry Titus; her
20 sister, Georgia DeFrank; her six grandchildren; her twelve

1 great-grandchildren; and her two great-great-grandchildren;
2 therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 her family and friends, the passing of Berniece H. Lipe; and be
6 it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Berniece H. Lipe as a symbol of our
9 sympathy.
