SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the passing of Wilson Washkuhn of Peoria Heights, who
4 passed away on December 8, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Wilson C. Washkuhn was born December 28, 1942, in
6 Chicago, the only son of Waldemar R. and Dorothy J. Pless
7 Washkuhn; he grew up in Morton Grove and was a graduate of
8 Niles West High School; Mr. Washkuhn married Linda Beth
9 Bruninga on July 23, 1966, in Springfield; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mr. Washkuhn was a 1965 graduate of Millikin
11 University; he graduated with high honors from the University
12 of Illinois College of Law in 1969 and was a member of the
13 Order of the Coif; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was a founding partner of Sutkowski & Washkuhn
15 Ltd., and practiced law in Peoria, central Illinois, and beyond
16 for more than 35 years; his focus of expertise was real estate,
17 estate planning, and business/corporate law; he held
18 memberships in the Illinois State and American Bar
19 Associations; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Upon retirement, he was of counsel with Sutkowski &
21 Rhoads Ltd. (formerly Sutkowski & Washkuhn Ltd.); Mr.

1 Washkuhn served the Peoria community and assisted city
2 government in many capacities over his lifetime; he was
3 currently chair of the Illinois Heart of Peoria Commission and
4 was a member of First Federated Church of Peoria; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Wilson Washkuhn is survived by his wife, Linda
7 Beth; and his two sons, John W., and Reeve W. (Erin L.);
8 therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of Wilson Washkuhn; and be
12 it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Wilson Washkuhn as a symbol of our
15 sincere sympathy.
