SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nina Dorchincez of Benton, who passed away on November 2, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Nina Dorchincez was born on July 22, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan; she was the daughter of Elwood Des Voignes and Helma (Grimes) Des Voignes; she married Gene Dorchincez on June 22, 1962; he preceded her in death on May 11, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Nina Dorchincez became the owner of the Kewpee Café in Benton after purchasing the restaurant from her mother and step-father, Helma and Farrell Sneed, who owned the restaurant for several years; after a short retirement in Florida, she returned to Benton to open a new restaurant with her son, named Farrell's; and

WHEREAS, Nina Dorchincez was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Sue Easley; and her brother, Bud Des Voignes; and

WHEREAS, Nina Dorchincez is survived by her children, Danny and Mary Thompson, Mark and Donna Thompson, Beth and Willie Carver, Mike and Julie Garrett, Toni Dorchincez, Angelique and Fred Trelli, and B.J. and Ellie Dorchincez; her 12 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren; and her several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Nina Dorchincez; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nina Dorchincez as an expression of our sympathy.
