SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Matthew Roy Allen of Waukegan, who passed away on September 25, 2008; and

WHEREAS, He was born February 4, 1977, in Waukegan; Matthew was a kind, genuine soul who loved and was loved by all people he came into contact with; he was a poet at heart, whose talent for the written word inspired those who loved him; and

WHEREAS, His favorite pastimes included spending time with his two children, Jeffrey and Caitlin, who brought sheer joy to Matthew's life, playing guitar with his brother William Allen, and humbly composing poems; and

WHEREAS, Matthew was preceded in death by his father, William Jeffrey Allen; his grandfathers, William Claude Allen and Roy Eugene Robinson; and his brother, Jonathan Miller; and

WHEREAS, Matthew is survived by his devoted mother, Laura Allen; his beautiful children, Jeffrey and Caitlin Allen; his brothers, William Allen and Christopher Miller (Jennifer); his nieces, Krystin Allen, Stephanie Miller, Alexis Miller, and Julianne Miller; and his grandmothers, Laura Lorenz and Elsie Allen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Matthew Allen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Matthew Allen as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
