SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas C. Jun Jr., of Alton, who passed away on October 20, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Thomas C. Jun Jr. was born March 9, 1936, in Alton, the son of Thomas C. and Celesta (Karns) Jun Sr; he married Valerie Louise Dennis at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Alton on April 29, 1961; and

WHEREAS, He worked with his father, Thomas C. Jun Sr., who founded Jun Construction in 1946; in the early 60's he started Frontier Construction and helped develop Villa Marie Subdivision; upon his fathers retirement, he assumed control of Jun Construction, which still thrives today as a third-generation general contracting firm; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of Local 377 union carpenter's hall, Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, a board member of ARC, the Catholic Children's Home in Alton, the National Association of Home Builders, the Beverly Farm Foundation, and a former president of the Marquette Booster Club; he was a member of Knights of Columbus in Alton and the Alton-Wood River Sportsman's Club; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie; and his father, Thomas C. Jun Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Jun Jr. is survived by his mother, Celesta Jun; his two daughters and a son-in-law, and one son and daughter-in-law; Denise Jun, Bradley and Kirsten Jun, and Karen and Don Lindsay; his six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ellen Lindsay, Thomas, Alexandria, Luke, and Daniel Jun; his sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Keshner-Seibert and Edward "Peck" Seibert and Minerva Stalker; and his brothers and a sister-in-law, J. Raymond Jun, and P.J. and Jayne Jun; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Thomas Jun Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Jun Jr. as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
